CHICAGO – DePaul men's soccer head coach Mark Plotkin has announced the 2022 schedule. After registering the best season of the Plotkin Era last fall, the Blue Demons are set for a seven-game non-conference schedule and a 10-game BIG EAST slate. DePaul opens up regular season action on Friday, Aug. 26 against Bowling Green at Wish Field in Chicago.

"We have created a challenging schedule including eight NCAA Tournament teams from last season, two of which competed in the College Cup," said Plotkin. "It will be an exciting 2022 season and we look forward to seeing our fans again at Wish Field this fall. You all were fantastic last year and continue to make Wish Field one of the most difficult venues to play in the country."

The Blue Demons started the season with momentum last fall, cruising out to 5-2 start by late September. DePaul was then entrenched into the competitive BIG EAST and narrowly missed out on a berth in the BIG EAST Championship. By season's end, the Blue Demons compiled a 7-7-3 record and a 3-4-3 mark in conference play, both program bests that span back to the 2016 season.

This fall, the Blue Demons will begin action with three exhibition matches. DePaul will travel to take on Indiana on Aug. 12 before hosting Lewis on Aug. 16. The preseason slate concludes with a trip to take on Milwaukee on Aug. 20.

The 2022 regular season will kick off at Wish Field on Friday, Aug. 26 with DePaul taking on Bowling Green. The matchup will be the first between the sides since 1999 and the Blue Demons will be searching for their first victory. DePaul will then host Bucknell on Aug. 28, wrapping up the opening weekend of action.

DePaul will then spend much of September competing on the road, traveling around the Midwest for the non-conference slate. DePaul takes on Oakland on Sept. 1 before taking on Notre Dame on Sept. 5. DePaul picked up a victory at Wish Field over Oakland last fall and will matchup with the Fighting Irish for the first time since 2019. Notre Dame joined BIG EAST member Georgetown as two of the four finalists in the 2021 College Cup.

DePaul will then return to Chicago to take on Loyola in Rogers Park on Sept. 9 before beginning BIG EAST play in Indianapolis with a matchup against Butler on Sept. 17. Last fall, DePaul battled to a 0-0 draw against the Bulldogs in Chicago.

After the conference opener, DePaul will wrap up the non-conference slate with a trip towards the Loop to face UIC on Sept. 20 and a home contest against UPenn on Sept. 25.

With the calendar turning to October, the bulk of the BIG EAST schedule will present itself. DePaul hosts Providence on Oct. 1 and travels to take on Seton Hall on Oct. 5. DePaul escaped Providence, R.I. last fall with a 1-1 draw against the No. 25 ranked Friars.

DePaul will host national-power Georgetown on Oct. 8 at Wish field before heading back to the East Coast to battle St. John's on Oct. 12. On Oct. 15, DePaul will welcome Xavier and the Marquette Golden Eagles will visit Chicago on Oct. 19.

The Blue Demons will conclude the 2022 regular season with a stretch that provided success last season. DePaul will travel to Connecticut on Oct. 22 and Creighton on Oct. 29 before hosting Villanova on Nov. 2. The Blue Demons collected three victories and outscored the trio of BIG EAST teams 6-3 last fall.

With the regular season winding down, the Blue Demons will look to secure a place in the BIG EAST Championship which will be played from Nov. 5-Nov. 13.

All regular season home matches will be played at Wish Field in Chicago and broadcasting information will be announced at a later date.
