CHICAGO - DePaul women's soccer head coach Michele O'Brien announced the 2022 schedule on Tuesday, revealing the Blue Demons' eight-game non-conference slate and 10-game BIG EAST schedule. DePaul will open the 2022 campaign by hosting Oakland on Thursday, Aug. 18.

"This schedule is very exciting," said O'Brien. "The non-conference portion of the season will be very challenging and will hopefully prepare us for conference play. This group is motivated and will be ready for the challenge. We will take it one game at a time and enjoy the opportunity to play against great competition. We are looking forward to getting started in a few weeks."

After a 7-11 season during O'Brien's first year at the helm of the program, DePaul will welcome five newcomers to the 2022 squad and will welcome back a strong cast of contributors from 2021. Last fall, DePaul posted a 4-6 record in conference action and narrowly missed out on advancing to the BIG EAST Tournament. The Blue Demons will look to return to the conference tournament for the first time since 2019.

After a pair of exhibition matches against Milwaukee (Aug. 7) and at Michigan State (Aug. 13), DePaul begins the regular season by hosting Oakland on Thursday, Aug. 18. Last fall, O'Brien earned her first win as a head coach in a 1-0 win over the Golden Grizzlies on the road in Rochester, Mich..

Following the home opener, DePaul will hit the road for a three-game swing, taking on Arkansas (Aug. 21), UIC (Aug. 25) and Iowa (Aug. 28) in road contests during the back half of August. The Blue Demons taking on the Razorbacks for the first time ever. To cap off the stretch away from home, the Blue Demons will make the trip to Iowa City after being shut out by the Hawkeyes in last season's opener.

To begin September, DePaul will battle a pair of Chicago-area foes. The Blue Demons host Northwestern on Sept. 1 before traveling north to take on Loyola a week later on Sept. 8. DePaul will look to avenge a pair of 1-0 defeats against the neighboring opponents last season.

In a marquee matchup on Sept. 11, DePaul will host Stanford at Wish Field. Stanford, a storied Pac 12 program that claimed the NCAA national title in both 2017 and 2019, will take on DePaul for the first time. In DePaul's final non-conference matchup, Lindenwood will travel to Wish Field on Sept. 15.

BIG EAST play will kick off on Sept. 22 with the Blue Demons hosting Marquette in Chicago. After a trip to Milwaukee to end the season last year, the Blue Demons will look for their first win against the Golden Eagles since 2019.

DePaul will head to Cincinnati for the first BIG EAST road trip for a matchup with Xavier on Sept. 25. The Blue Demons will return home to host the Georgetown Hoyas on Oct. 2. DePaul will then alternate for a handful of back-and-forths to the East Coast, traveling to Providence on Oct. 6, hosting Butler on Oct. 9, heading to Connecticut on Oct. 13 and hosting Seton Hall Oct. 16. Last season, DePaul tore through the middle portion of the BIG EAST schedule, logging three-straight wins against Villanova, Seton Hall and Connecticut.

To wrap up the conference slate, DePaul heads to Omaha to take on Creighton on Oct. 20 and stays on the road to play Villanova on Oct. 23. DePaul finishes the regular season on Oct. 27 with a matchup with St. John's at Wish Field.

All home matches will be played at Wish Field in Chicago and broadcasting information will be announced at a later date.
